i'm back, after a looooong time! =)
haha.hey guys! i'm back!
so sorry i disappeared so abruptly! let me explain why: cause my internet connection got cut off (kept exceeding, dad fed up). yea. and then applied for new line (unlimited now!!! yay!), only activated on 17 june. but then i went away for a camp! haha. JTC. junior training camp. a rangers camp. so exciting! let me write about the camp. haha.
on the first day, the funniest thing already happened. haha. cause my dad picked chang xiang up. and when he got up the car, he told me that he sewed his patches wrongly. (rangers emblem supposed to be on the left, singapore and 1 on the right. his is the other way round!) haha. i was like, oh my gosh. u spent so much time sewing it and u got it all wrong?! haha. then when we reached the campsite, happily sit around and chatted. went to register, got a shock. haha. cause they issued us a red beret, and we were supposed to sew the patch on it! haha. initially i thought the patch would already be on. then i realised, oh well, it IS a training camp. haha. we then had orientation and stuff. had to build the campsite. it was super fun. love doing all the lashings. haha. i'm into lashings!!!! anyways, on the first day, everything was done nicely for us. didnt have to cook etc. had lessons and stuff like that (training camp. train our skills).i was the assistant patrol guide. quite slack.haha.
council fire on the first day was great. presence of God was real. though many didnt dare to take that step of faith to step out when time for altar call. on the second day, they provided breakfast for us. (hey, we werent expected to wake up super early to cook breakfast lahs.haha.training camp, but not torturing camp!) every now and then, we imrpoved on our campsite to try to get our medals. we failed to get our bronze medal of achievement on the first day, making us lag behind the guys. but we got it on the second day. we had lessons and everything. yea. and expected to cook our own lunch. tin foil cooking. for every meal, we were late, but our food tasted really good. the tin foil cooking was great. some beef thing lahs. yea. we rushed for our lessons after that. for dinner, we too, had to cook our own. dutch oven cooking. i tell u, the food, fantastic. haha. the commanders keep coming over our side for food. =) for council fire, we put up a skit. for me, my role is a bimbo. totally dumb one. haha. it goes like this: eileen and i walked out hand in hand. then chara, as a salesperson, introduced a new eyeliner to us. so then eileen grabbed it, and said, 'oh! i know what its for!' then she started applying on my lips. then i got excited and was like, 'am i pretty? ahh. i must look very nice!!' (so me right. haha) then chara rolled her eyes, and showed us a new lipstick. i grabbed it and said. ''let me! i know where to apply this!'' then i put it on eileen's cheeks. then both of us went ooh and ahh. haha. then kept saying we are pretty etc. haha. then got suaned by the guys.
and during praise and worship, i felt so much freedom! though i felt there's still something within me i havent ocmmitted to God.on the third day, we had team building games and lessons as usual. cooked our own food. both meals using dutch oven.turned out fantastic. commanders so impressed. haha. camp commander, cmr wing leong, so impressed, he gave us extra time (cause we were late, again). haha. council fire, did opening skit. my role was quite childish. haha. fighting with antoinette to light up the council fire. in the end, operation falcons lit the fire together. theme was "one for all, all for one". the bear patrol presented their bolo tie to their commander, and they fulfilled their requirement for gold medal of achievement, and they got the medal. so our patrol was like, why dont we present ours too? maybe we'll get it (we got our silver one a few minutes before). so we said we wanted to present to our patrol advisor, commander edina. right after that, junior commander lionel announced that we got our gold medal of achievement. i tel u, we just screamed and shouted for joy! haha.
anyways, after that we just focused totally on God. praised and worshipped Him. each and every one of us were touched. be it a ranger, or a commander. serious. edina was sharing with me her experience. it really encouraged me. we started praying and worshipping freely. i kept crying and crying. His presence was so strong, so real, i couldnt stand. i just knelt down. commanders prayed for me etc. all of us just went for the altar call. people got baptised in the spirit, people got healed etc. it was so real. then when i stood up to answer an altar call, edina came and prayed for me. suddenly my legs went so wobbly, i felt i couldnt stand in the presence of God. i got slained. yea. my legs totally had no strength to stand before Him. then cmdr julie and edina prayed for me. i was so so ministered. when i got up, i felt i really commited every single thing to God. nothing else matter in this world. only God does. but He told me He still has something else in store for me. so i waited. then they suddenly gave a call for full time.i felt something drawing me to answer the call. but then i questioned myself, is it God, or is it just me? so i thought perhaps i'll not go. but i felt no peace. then God reminded me of what ps rachel said. if your calling is not for full time, and u go for it, u'll die off in ur ministry very fast. but if ur calling is for full time, and u dont go for it, it'll be u planning ur future, not God, and nothing will turn out right. so then God reminded me of the times i helped out in church office. i had such a desire to work in there. so i went for the call. i felt such peace deep within me. then commanders came over and prayed for me. i just broke down. what He spoke was so so real. yea.on the last day, we had service. i tell u, God totally moved. we worshipped Him using the For All You've Done dvd. had such a great time. really. every single one praised and worshipped Him without reservations.
rushed to church after that. made it in time for worship and sermon. during altar call, i felt led to pray for a few people, so i did. God showed me this heart that was locked up. and the key was in the person's hand. yea. but i didnt know who it was for, so i didnt share it. but i shared it with jean after that. then i went forward to be prayed for. the asking for God's heart. oh my gosh, i tell u, dont u dare argue with me that God is not a real God. three leaders told me the same thing alright. make that seven. including the night before what the commanders told me. SEVEN. u are tell me God isnt real? at two total different occasions, He told me the same thing through SEVEN people. SEVEN alright?! thats alot! first, the commanders one, cmdr chong, cmdr julie, cmdr mark and edina said the same thing. they prayed for confidence, boldness, that i may dare to ask and receive from God. then in church, cai jie, cecelia and paula said the same thing. that if i dare to ask, God will dare to give. what really stunned me was, cai jie shared with me the passage in the Bible that says, if a son asks for bread, will the father give him a stone that one. yea. then i went back to my seat. and paula said she felt strongly there's somthing she should share with me. and she shared the exact same thing!
i'm totallt refreshed and touched by God. though i got 150 bites all over my body(haha) it was worth it. cause i'm drawn back to God. and. my prayer finally got answered. i've been asking God for something. i told Him, i wanna soak in your presence evry minute of the day. and now i am!!! praise God!
