YAY!i can use RED!
after so long.
anyway,
let me talk about Do It All For You.
my cell started our preparation on friday night.
our target: 30 bottles containing 40-50 stars.
we planned to give those bottles of stars with little cards attached to it to the patients at Hong Leong NKF.
everyone slept ultra late on friday night.
or should i say, slept super early on saturday morning.
joel didnt even sleep.
some of us continued at joel's house the following morning,
before heading down to NKF.
it was really great.
the trip, i mean.
we managed to interact with the patients,
and seeing their smiles really cheered me up.
i was quite intimidated by the tubes of blood.
i kept telling myself,
"just imagine it's red tubes."
but when i saw air spaces, i just can't convince myself that they are plain red tubes.
it's SO obvious that they are tubes containing blood.
after a while , i really felt like puking.
but i thank God i didnt.
the charge nurse showed us around the place,
the machines and all.
before we went off, she showed us the needles used in dialysis.
there are 4 different thickness.
when i saw the thinnest one,
i already felt like crying.so when i held the thickest one in my hand,
i couldnt help it.
i mean, can you imagine the kind of pain they have to go through?
that's why HG2-T is trying to adopt a healthier life-style.
HAHA.
but i really thank God,
because He really opened our eyes to see the patients through His eyes.
i mean, to those who served under the hot sun yesterday,
they may think our cell's task was the easiest.
simple as it may have looked,
God still touched lives - not just the patients', but ours too.
we then decided to have fish soup plus rice for lunch.
whoa.
we were blessed with free lunch.
cos uh.
the aunty was like,
"you guys doing community work?"
"yeah."
"okay lah. we treat you guys to lunch."
we tried "pushing" the money to her,
but she rejected.
in the end, we gave her a bottle of our stars and bought her a thank-you card.
when we went back audi,
most hg2tians ko-ed.
HAHA.
regina labelled us as "the cell which didnt sleep".
it wasnt anything noble that we didnt sleep.
cos we're careful to give God all the glory. (:
it was heartening to see youth alive moving beyond the four walls and touching lives in the community.
and we were quite outstanding.
i mean,
200 people running around in Geylang East Central wearing BRIGHT GREEN shirts.
HAHA.
after DIAFY,
hanged around in church.
cos we're supposed to head down to faith a/g after that for a debrief on pow wow.
chang xiang and i went to joing the ARs for awhile.
cos they were playing this game lah,
to test how much they know about firecraft and ropecraft.
putting cx and me against them is to show them a level of standard.
HAHA.
in the end,
the AR commanders made both of us teach them A-frame.
it was a good experience.
and i'm excited,
cos there's a high chance i'll be attached back to palmgrove.
AR at that.
cos PGO is currently at church,
plmgss didn't want to let us use the place anymore.
and since cmdr daniel's reasoning for us to be attached to AJO in the first place is that he needs to oversee us, it shouldnt be a problem since now PGO's in church too.
went to faith a/g.
haha.
jamin was damn funny.
"welcome to wo men de di pan."
cos usually they're the ones going to bethel.
the debrief was great.
opened me up to alot of different perspectives.
i'm really excited to take up the challenge of being a junior commander.
and i think he's really cute.
HAHA.
service was great today.
spirit of excellence!
jo and i wore the same colour combi lah.
it wasnt planned alright.
when i walked in cet class,
we looked at each other and had that "whoa" look.
HAHA.
we xin you ling xi yi dian tong okay.
HAHA.
good buddies, that's why.
i love you pretty! (:
before i end the post,
